Mescalero Sand Dunes

Location:

36 miles east of Roswell, New Mexico.

Description:

610 acres. Mostly vegetated dunes near the Pscoe River.

Restrooms and picnic tables are available.

Directions to Mescalero Dunes:

36 miles east of Roswell, 1.5 miles south on Hwy 380.  Turn south from Hwy 380 on gravel road located between milepost 193 and 194.

Mescalero Camping Area:

Camping allowed, but there are no improvements

Rules:

New Laws - Starting in 2006: 

• Under 18 riders in New Mexico must wear a helmet and goggles, and complete a ATV safety class.
• New Mexico residents will have to register their ATVs

Fees:

• $5/night
